Sin is Crouching at Your Door
“Sin is crouching at your door; it desires to own you, but you must rule over it (Genesis 4:7).”
God had not accepted Cain’s offering and Cain resented God for not accepting him on his own terms. It doesn’t work that way. Man can only be acceptable to God on His terms.
Cain resented God’s rejection and turned his anger toward his younger brother, Abel. God approached Cain and offered him a way to be accepted. God also warned Cain that sin was crouching at his door. If he did not do things God’s way, Cain would sin. Cain refused God’s way and murdered his brother, Abel.
